Why Xalar.
We started because we were tired of the same thing: seeing our territory sold as something it wasn't. Postcard Empordà, cheap Costa Brava, a night out and a beach with a sun lounger.
We wanted to show the opposite. That here, for those who know how to look, there's plenty all year round. That a mas isn't a backdrop. That a dinner can be a cultural act. That a trip can end with you knowing a person.
Xalar is the consequence: a team that lives here, a network of partners who know where everything is, and a catalogue we deliberately keep open.
Xalar, in the dictionary, means to celebrate joyfully. It seemed like the right verb.
Five ways not to do it.
It's easier to say what we don't do than to list values. These five limits are the most honest way to explain how we work.

We don't run a closed catalogue.
Every project starts with a conversation. No brief, no quote. If it doesn't fit, we say so.

We don't subcontract the care.
We only work with partners we know in person. Our network has been built on foot, around the table, over years.

We don't fill the gaps.
If an experience doesn't add to the moment, it's out. If an hour in the programme is empty, we let it be empty.

We don't lie.
If the moment doesn't work, we fix it without making excuses. If we can't deliver, we don't take the project on.

We don't forget where we are.
Every project should leave more in the territory than it takes. Local producers, local people, zero waste whenever possible.
We are two.
A small project, on purpose. Each side has a dedicated lead: Adri runs individuals and hotels, Joan runs companies and corporate. We work face to face with the client, without handing the conversation off, from the first call to the final wrap-up.

Runs the people side: individuals booking a trip of their own and premium hotels activating the concierge programme for their guests. If you're planning a getaway, an experience gift or want to add Xalar to your property, he's the way in.
Joan —
Lead · Companies · Corporate
Runs the team side: leadership off-sites, teambuilding, incentives and corporate events for groups of 8 to 200. If you're planning an outing with your team, he designs it and runs it end to end.
We meet you where it happens.
The work of an experience is done on site. That's why we meet at your hotel, at the winery, at the mas or in the garden where we'll set it up: walking the ground with you is part of the design.
